Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Whole School Kind Hearts

October is breast cancer awareness month. Here at Queen Anne's we are recognising the month by supporting the charity Breast Cancer Now, a charity that supports those who have been diagnosed, along with their families.

Materials, such as leaflets and posters have been placed around the school to help raise awareness towards breast cancer and to increase the girls understanding on how to be breast aware.

The pink ribbon is worn to honour those living with breast cancer, to remember those who have lost their fight and to support the progress we are making to defeat breast cancer. Boarders in the Upper 6 and some of the younger years have worked hard to make 650 pink ribbons, so the whole school community can wear them with pride.

Today the school hosted a pink themed bake sale, organised by Mrs Botterill and Mrs Preston, who work in the school Health Centre, along with Upper 6 students Tilly and Rachael.

Staff and students brought in an array of pink baked goods ready for the bake sale. All donations made will go to Breast Cancer Now, thank you to everyone who made cakes, donated and to those who helped organise the bake sale.
