Speech Day 2023

We are delighted to share with you the highlights of our annual Speech Day, a cherished tradition at Queen Anne's School, where students, staff, parents, governors, and guests gather to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our prize winners and bid farewell to our U6 leavers as they embark on the next chapter of their lives. 

Many thanks to all U6 leavers and their families who joined us for a special leavers’ chapel service before the ceremony, where Reverend Rachel led us in song and prayer as we reflected on the students’ time at Queen Anne’s. 

This year's Speech Day was a momentous occasion filled with pride, inspiration, and gratitude. Our special guest speaker, Isobel Petersen, an accomplished Queen Anne's School alumna, shared her remarkable journey since leaving our school. Isobel is currently the Head of Talent Operations at Milltown Partners, an advisory firm in London that specialising in advising technology firms and corporations. Her speech left a lasting impression on all, as she eloquently spoke about the power of embracing opportunities and ‘just saying yes’ to new challenges and opportunities.

The heartfelt speeches given by our Head Girls, Francesca and Grace, were filled with fond memories of their time at Queen Anne's School. They expressed their gratitude to the dedicated staff members who have been a pillar of support throughout their journey, instilling in them the values of perseverance, resilience, and compassion. Their eloquence and genuine appreciation touched the hearts of all present, including their fellow U6 leavers.

An essential aspect of Speech Day is recognizing the exemplary efforts and accomplishments of our students. Mr. Ben Stephenson, our Director of Sixth Form, did a remarkable job of awarding the prizes for progress and achievement. It was heart-warming to witness the pride and joy of the winners as they received their well-deserved accolades. We commend all students for their dedication to their studies and extracurricular pursuits, exemplifying the spirit of excellence that defines Queen Anne's School.

Following the ceremony, guests gathered for a delightful buffet lunch, enjoying each other's company and capturing cherished moments in photographs. The atmosphere was filled with camaraderie and celebration as everyone came together to commemorate the collective achievements of our school community.

As we conclude another successful Speech Day, we extend our sincerest gratitude to all who contributed to its success. To our diligent students, passionate staff, supportive parents, dedicated governors, and esteemed guests, we thank you for being an integral part of our Queen Anne's School family.

We look forward to continuing this tradition for many more years to come, celebrating the excellence of our students and the lasting impact of a Queen Anne's School education.
