We know that the application process for senior school varies quite widely, and that navigating this can be daunting. The main steps of our Admissions process are outlined below, but we are very happy for you to get in touch at any time if you have any questions.

Key Dates for your Diary

The table below shows the key dates for families that live in the UK wishing to apply for entry into Year 9. For families living overseas, please visit our International Students page.

Scholarship assessments take place in Wednesday 28 January 2026.

Entry into Year 9 in September 2026

Assessment Day

For 13+ entry girls sit Queen Anne's assessments. The exams take place mid-January and girls are tested in English, Mathematics and Reasoning. The first step is to register your daughter with Queen Anne's to take part in the assessment day. 

Girls will also be invited to interview with the Head or a Deputy Head at a mutually convenient time and a reference will be requested from their current school.

The exams will be sat at Queen Anne’s School. Scholarships in Art, Drama, Music and Sport will be assessed at our Specialist Scholarship Days in January. Academic Scholarships will be considered on the examination results.

Entry into Year 9 in September 2027 or September 2028

If your daughter is in Year 6 or 7 at a Prep School, she can sit the Queen Anne's entrance exams in November 2025. We will then defer her place to Year 9 in either September 2027 or 2028 dependent on her current year group. This is sometimes called a pre-test. These exams will take place at Queen Anne's on Saturday 8 November 2025. The first step is to register your daughter with Queen Anne's to take part in the assessment day.
