Scholarship assessments take place in January of Year 8.

Entry into Year 9 in September 2025

Assessment Day

For 13+ entry girls sit the ISEB Common Entrance exams. The exams take place mid-January and girls are tested in English, Mathematics and Science (www.iseb.co.uk). The first step is to register your daughter with Queen Anne's to take part in the assessment day.

Once confirmed by the Admissions Team, registration with the ISEB is done via your daughter’s school and where this is not possible it remains the responsibility of parents. In addition to the Common Entrance exams girls sit papers in Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning (CEM). Girls will also be invited to interview with the Head or a Deputy Head at a mutually convenient time and a reference will be requested from their current school.

The exams can be sat at Queen Anne’s School or your daughter’s school if it is a registered centre with the ISEB. Scholarships in Art, Drama, Music and Sport will be assessed at our Specialist Scholarship Days in January. Academic Scholarships will be considered on the examination results from both ISEB and CEM.

Entry into Year 9 in September 2027 or September 2026

If your daughter is in Year 6 or 7 at a Prep School, she can sit the Queen Anne's entrance exams in October 2024. We will then defer her place to Year 9 in either September 2026 or 2027 dependent on her current year group. This is sometimes called a pre-test. These exams will take place at Queen Anne's on Saturday 12 October 2024. The first step is to register your daughter with Queen Anne's to take part in the assessment day.

Common Entrance

Preparatory school pupils will receive advice from their Headteacher about Common Entrance procedures. If your daughter does not attend a school that enters girls for Common Entrance, visit the ISEB website (www.iseb.co.uk) directly to register your daughter. The closing date for registering with the ISEB is 1 December of the year prior to entry. For any enquiries, please email [email protected]. Late entrants may incur additional costs.
