Maddock House is a mix of junior and senior boarding and looks after girls aged 11-16, with a dedicated wing for our youngest boarders.

Maddock benefits from a very large family-style kitchen which is well stocked with fruit, milk, hot drinks and bread for the vital after-school toast; the girls spend time relaxing and chatting here as well as in the large sits (sitting rooms). There are always staff on duty in the office at all times during the day and evening.  For most, Maddock really feels like their second home and we constantly encourage girls to contribute to our ever-evolving environment. The girls’ laundry is done in House by the House staff during the day and is ready to collect in the evenings, while we encourage the girls to play their part in ‘clean up’ duties on a rotational basis in the evenings.

We encourage girls to bring in items to decorate their rooms to make them feel more at home. For an example of the Maddock Daily Routines, please click the link below.

Daily Routines

Each week one student is selected as 'Maddockian of the Week'. Students who have done something exceptional in or out of school can be nominated by both staff or students.

During the school day, L4 - U5 hand in their phones to their Head of Year at registration. In the evening, pupils are welcome to use phones to keep in contact with friend and family. L4 - U5 pupils then hand in their phones and electronic devices before bed.

All families are given a Holmes Booklet before the start of the new year with lots of useful information.
