The primary role of the Graduate Assistant is to work within the boarding houses, getting to know the girls and building a relationship of trust with them. Graduate Assistants are on duty and present in the school boarding houses, providing pastoral care alongside the House Parent, Deputy House Parent and Matron. 

Main duties include to:

  • Assist in the smooth running of the House, liaising closely with the House Parent/s and their team
  • Plan and deliver a range of engaging evening activities for the boarders
  • Provide academic support with student prep and revision
  • Assist Matrons with domestic duties
  • Assist the girls with house routines and rotas
  • Be a role model and listening ear
  • Be resident on the school site in provided accommodation

Sports Graduate Assistant

 

Sports Graduate Associate

Term time / One year contract with accommodation

The role

Managed by the Director of Sport, we are looking to recruit a Graduate Sports Assistant to support the PE department in delivering high quality teaching and learning, in both the curriculum and co-curriculum.  The main responsibility will be to provide practical support, whilst gaining valuable experience of working in the education sector.

A proven ability in either Lacrosse or Netball is essential and experience in coaching or officiating would be advantageous.

Single (shared) accommodation is provided and meals during term time. You will be expected to be involved in activities outside of timetabled lessons and sports sessions plus play a full part in the busy life of our boarding school, which will include agreed evenings per week and weekend duties.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be confident to coach at least one sport to a high level
  • Assist in coaching and officiating at two sports, leading teams and officiating matches mid-week and on Saturdays
  • Support the Heads of Netball and Lacrosse with team organisation and management
  • Assisting with planning and preparation of PE
  • Supervise pupils during sports fixtures, tournaments and trips
  • Be on duty in school boarding houses, assisting Housemistresses and providing pastoral care

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and self-motivated Food Technology Technician to join the team.  Based in the new state-of-the-art classroom, the postholder will provide support to the Food Technology Teacher.   An interest in food, alongside strong written and verbal communication skills and a proactive nature will be required.
