    The role

    The successful candidate will be required to teach French to GCSE level (essential) and A level (desirable), and to contribute to the teaching of Spanish at Key Stage 3. The department is well resourced to support someone teaching an area for the first time. In everything we do as a department we seek to inspire and motivate pupils to attain the highest possible standards. This is achieved through excellent teaching in a vibrant, flexible and supportive department that seeks to provide ample opportunities for learning outside of the classroom.

    Duties will include:

    • Assist in the preparation of Schemes of Work; setting and marking term work, tests and examination papers.
    • Deliver high-quality classroom teaching, assessing, recording and reporting on pupil progress, and supporting colleagues when problems are encountered.
    • Provide a safe and enabling learning environment for pupils across all abilities. Write regular pupil reports as per the school reporting schedule. Work with the school’s monitoring and tracking systems to consistently review pupils’ progress. Attend parents’ evenings and give informed feedback to parents and pupils.
    • Inspiring excellence by supporting the organisation of educational visits and trips, ensuring that the correct procedures, as specified in school policies, are carried out and adhered to;.
