    You would be joining our team of Graduate Assistants working within the boarding houses, getting to know the girls and building a relationship of trust with them. Graduate Assistants are on duty and present in the school boarding houses, providing pastoral care alongside the House Parent, Deputy House Parent and Matron. 

    This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience of working with young people. The role demands high levels of self-motivation, enthusiasm, commitment and the ability to actively encourage pupils to partake in a wide range of activities. You will be expected play a full part in the busy life of our boarding school. Terms are short and intense and holidays long so that batteries can be recharged.

    On-site accommodation is provided, as are free meals in term time. 

    The School is located in beautiful grounds in the centre of thriving Caversham, and there are excellent transport links including from Reading station, which is within walking distance.  

    Main duties include to:

    • Assist in the smooth running of the House, liaising closely with the House Parent/s and their team
    • Plan and deliver a range of engaging evening activities for the boarders
    • Provide academic support with student prep and revision
    • Assist Matrons with domestic duties
    • Assist the girls with house routines and rotas
    • Be a role model and listening ear
    • Be resident on the school site in provided accommodation

    The Role

    This is a part-time, term-time only position supporting the delivery of high-quality practical Food Preparation and Nutrition lessons.

    Based in the modern and highly resourced Food Technology classroom, the Food Preparation and Nutrition Technician plays a supporting role in the smooth, safe and effective running of the Food Preparation and Nutrition department. The postholder is primarily responsible for the preparation of ingredients and equipment, setting up the teaching kitchen for lessons, and the thorough cleaning and resetting of the room after practical sessions.

    The role requires good organisational skills, the ability to prioritise workload to meet the demands of a fast-paced timetable.

    The successful candidate will have:

    • An interest in food, nutrition and cooking
    • Strong organisational skills
    • Attention to detail in relation to food hygiene and equipment preparation
    • Ability to prioritise and work as part of a small team

    A salary of £13,517.18 will be offered for 27.5 hours per week, 34 weeks per year (term time) and 4.1 weeks paid holiday.

    The role

    We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic and self-motivated Invigilators to join the team.

    As an Invigilator, there is a requirement to invigilate examinations in the Hall, in an IT classroom, or on a one-to-one basis. Invigilators are required to support the following activities:

    · To assist setting up examination rooms by laying out papers and materials as instructed.

    · To help ensure that the conduct of the exam takes place within the guidelines set by JCQ and the Exam Boards (Training will be given and qualification gained)

    · To ensure the safeguarding of pupils (Safeguarding training will be provided).

    · At the end of exams, make sure that the scripts have been filled in correctly. If a laptop has been used, check that the student has saved the work to the USB provided

    The successful candidate will have:

    • Excellent communication skills
    • Extensive IT experience
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Understanding of confidentiality
    • A good team member who can work on their own initiative
