    Residential, accommodation and food provided. 

    We are seeking a team of four Graduate Assistants working within the boarding houses, getting to know the girls and building a relationship of trust with them. Graduate Assistants are on duty and present in the school boarding houses, providing pastoral care alongside the House Parent, Deputy House Parent and Matron. 

    This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience of working with young people. The role demands high levels of self-motivation, enthusiasm, commitment and the ability to actively encourage pupils to partake in a wide range of activities. You will be expected play a full part in the busy life of our boarding school. Terms are short and intense and holidays long so that batteries can be recharged.

    On-site accommodation is provided, as are free meals in term time. 

    The School is located in beautiful grounds in the centre of thriving Caversham, and there are excellent transport links including from Reading station, which is within walking distance.  

    Main duties include to:

    • Assist in the smooth running of the House, liaising closely with the House Parent/s and their team
    • Plan and deliver a range of engaging evening activities for the boarders
    • Provide academic support with student prep and revision
    • Assist Matrons with domestic duties
    • Assist the girls with house routines and rotas
    • Be a role model and listening ear
    • Be resident on the school site in provided accommodation

    The role

    We are looking for an expert in the field of sport and sports science, to enhance our unique approach to teaching and learning.  Queen Anne’s has a long tradition of success on the sports field and in 2025 we were the U19 National Lacrosse Champions.

    The Role

    Queen Anne’s School is looking to hire a part time Payroll & HR Assistant (15 hours per week) on a fixed-term basis. The School is implementing a new HR platform for all staff (Cintra) and also has plans to launch a new online recruitment platform. The postholder will provide additional support to the existing HR function over the near term.

    The Payroll and HR Assistant’s role will be to help with the successful roll-out of the Cintra platform (not the implementation project which is currently ongoing) and also to support the HR Advisor with general day to day HR functions during this period. They will be responsible for ensuring that the critical documentation supporting the school’s staffing is kept up to date and efficiently organised. They will also be the front-line for initial personnel requests for staff.

    A high degree of confidentiality and professional integrity is required due to the sensitive nature of the information. Attention to detail is also critical.

    The successful candidate will have:

    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Strong numerical skills and understanding of the payroll process
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality
    •  Team member approach and able to work on their own initiative
    • Ability to respond swiftly to action payroll changes and staff enquiries

    Working pattern: 15 hours per week, either 2 full days or shorter days across the week.

    Salary £10,950.03 (including holiday pay).  This is a part-time, all-year round position. Fixed-term contract: 6-12 months, with potential for extension.
