Sixth Form Event

On Thursday 22 February, Queen Anne's was honoured to co-host the Year 12 Pillars of Wellbeing Conference alongside Royal Berkshire Hospital and Sport in Mind.

The morning consisted of talks from Sport in Mind about the work they do as a charity and how everyone can be more active, Dr Boluwatife Ikwunne from the University of Oxford on mental wellbeing and the teenage brain and Dr Deepak Ravindran of the Royal Berkshire Hospital on reframing pain.

This was followed by a practical session lead by Queen Anne's L6 students on how to be more active each day with a game of musical chairs! The students also had the opportunity to network and discuss volunteering opportunities at the Royal Berkshire Hospital.

The students then took part in a working lunch where they took the themes from the morning and created their own wellbeing initiatives. These were presented at the end of the conference and all who took part left with new ideas about how they increase wellbeing in their own school.
