Queen Anne’s Dancers Shine at The Dance Championships

Students from Queen Anne’s Dance Company, Twilight Dance, enjoyed a weekend of success at The Dance Championships, showcasing their talent and teamwork across a busy two-day competition.

The event began with a Contemporary Dance Challenge led by one of the competition judges. Competing against dancers from local secondary schools and dance schools, our students performed brilliantly throughout the challenge, with several progressing through to the final rounds.

Congratulations to Harriet (U4), who achieved third place, Harriet (U4), who secured second place, and Chloe (U6), who was crowned overall winner of the challenge.

Throughout the weekend, our dancers performed an impressive total of 20 routines, which included solos, duets, trios and group performances. The competition provided an opportunity for students to demonstrate the wide range of dance styles taught and developed at Queen Anne’s, competing successfully in both the Secondary Schools and Dance Schools categories.

The team achieved an outstanding set of results:

  • 1st Place – Lana (L4), Pre-Intermediate Solos Advanced Ballet
  • 1st Place – Lana (L4) and Harriett (U4), Intermediate Duets
  • 3rd Place – Twilight Dance Company, Senior Groups Modern, Black & Gold
  • 1st PlaceInsomnia, Secondary Schools Modern/Jazz Section
  • 3rd PlaceCloser, Secondary Schools Modern/Jazz Section
  • 4th Place – Harriet (U4), Iris (U4) and Stella (U4), No One, Secondary Schools Duets and Trios
  • 3rd Place – Pippa (U6) and Chloe (U6), Stole the Show, Secondary Schools Duets and Trios
  • 2nd Place – Frankie (U4), Keira (L5) and Natasha (L6), Waves, Secondary Schools Duets and Trios
  • 4th Place – Jess (U6), Secondary Schools Solos (15–18 years)
  • 3rd Place – Chloe (U6), Secondary Schools Solos (15–18 years)

In addition, two students received Special Judges’ Awards in recognition of their outstanding performances over the weekend. Well done to Abbie (L6) and Harriett (U4) on this well-deserved achievement.

The success of the weekend reflects not only the dancers’ talent but also their commitment, resilience and support for one another. We are incredibly proud of all our performers for the hard work, enthusiasm and teamwork they demonstrated throughout the competition.
