A group of QAS Dance students delivered an exceptional performance at the Dance Championships held at The Stag Theatre, Sevenoaks on Sunday 18 May.
The day started with an open class Dance Challenge competing against over 40 dancers. Scarlett (U6), Harriet (4) and Chloe (L6) placed in the top three, taking 1st, 2nd, and 3rd respectively.
Later, in the Secondary Schools' competition, our dancers swept every category, winning in Solos, Duets & Trios, Small Group, and Large Group sections. Top solo results included Harriet (4) who came 1st, Celine (L6) coming 2nd, and Scarlett (L6) taking 3rd. Chloe (L6) and Scarlett (U6) claimed 1st in Duets, while the Grade 6 group with Scarlett (U6), Chloe (L6), Lucy (L5), Flo (L5) and Harriet (4) won the Small Group category. The Twilight Dance Company’s full team took 1st and 2nd in the Large Group competition with their performances of Caged and A Life’s Journey.
Special honours went to Scarlett (U6), who was named Multi-Genre Dancer of the Competition and awarded a scholarship to 'Can You Dance?' Move It Summer School. Celine (L6) won the Secondary Schools' Photo Award and a part-funded place at the Joffrey School Summer Intensive.
