Queen Anne's School was delighted to host the EDUQAS A Level Music Conference on Tuesday, 14 November, in the Scott Music Centre. 🎼

Our esteemed speakers, David Coggins MMus, BMus, ARCM, LGSM, Dr. Christopher Tarrant BA, MMus PhD, and Dr. David Bednall BA, PhD, MA (Oxon), FRCO, illuminated the event with their expertise.

David Coggins delved into the intricacies of Haydn's musical language, initiating the day with "Starting Analysis: Aspects of Haydn’s Musical Language." He continued the exploration with "Don’t Explain the Joke… Analysing Haydn 104.2."

Dr. Christopher Tarrant captivated the audience with a focus on "The Development of the Symphony 1750-1900," providing insights into both Absolute and Programme Music.

Dr. David Bednall shared his wisdom on "The Craft of Music Composition," enlightening attendees on the intricate artistry behind composing music.This was followed by the most extraordinary improvisation on the organ to the classic film Jekyll and Hyde in the evening.

A harmonious blend of knowledge and passion, the EDUQAS A Level Music Conference at Queen Anne's School was a symphony of learning and inspiration. 🌟
