A round-up of all the latest sports news in the week commencing Monday 25 November.

Netball Umpiring

Rebecca L (U4) has been regularly umpiring at a local netball league in High Wycombe following training at an England Netball C Umpire Award Course. This has now culminated in her umpiring U14 and U16 teams at the national schools netball competition for North Bucks. This is quite an achievement for an U14 girl to be able to umpire competently in such a pressured environment.

Orienteering      

Amelia W (U4) competed in the British Schools Orienteering Championships a couple of weekends ago and came away with a bronze medal in the W14 class.

Swimming      

U14 and U12 swim squads travelled to Downe House on Wednesday. The U12 squad was particularly large and it was great to see so many girls making their Queen Anne’s swimming debuts for the school.

Netball

The U15s played Bohunt School this week and won both matches.

U15As: Won 12-11

U15Bs: Won 3-2
Players’ Player: Louisa H (L5), Millie B (L5)

Lacrosse

The first team played away at Downe House on Saturday.

1sts: Lost 4-10

• Players’ Player: Amy I (U5)
• Commended: Millie B (U6), Hannah K (U6), Lauren R (U5)
• The rest of the teams faced the tough challenge of Berkhamsted, who are the current National Schools Champions.

2nds: Lost 3-13

3rds: Lost 0-16

• Players’ Player: Zara O (U5), Ruth D (L6)
• Commended: Amelie H (U5)

The U15As had a nail biting match and reversed last year’s result, beating Berkhamsted by 2 goals. The U14Bs managed to hold them to a draw.

U15As: Won 11-9
