This half-term, both the U15 and U16 Netball teams have proved fierce opponents in recent tournaments.

On Monday 10 November the U15s played Tomlinscote School in the Sisters n Sport Shield North to land a place in the final 16. QAS started out strong and took the lead, but it was clear it was going to be a close game. QAS looked to be going through with a one goal lead, but at the end of the fourth quarter, Tomlinscote scored an equaliser to make it 21-21. In the rules of the competition, the game continues from where full-time ended until the next goal is scored. Through tenacity and great team decision making, an interception from Chloe leading to a penalty awarded to Bella gave them a chance to score the golden goal. Bella took the shot and scored, qualifying the U15s for the quarter finals of the Sisters n Sport Shield North. Final Score 22-21!

On Saturday 8 November the U16 County squad comprising of U15 and U16 players competed at the Berkshire Schools Netball Championships.

Due to the numbers of schools that compete in netball, schools must qualify by placing in the top 2 at a highly competitive county and regional round before they can compete at National level. QAS went unbeaten all morning, and finished the session with a highly competitive draw against Wellington, who went through in top spot due to goal difference.

This led to slightly more challenging quarter final, but after beating both Charters and St Mary's, Ascot they secured a place in the final. By this point, the team were elated to have qualified but exhausted, having competed at the top level for two and a half hours. They fought hard until the end, but Wellington came away with a deserved victory. With a second place finish though, comes a spot to compete alongside Wellington at regional level in January - the first qualification for the regional netball finals by a Queen Anne's team in ten years!
