Lower 6 student Abbie’s attended the prestigious Silicon Valley International Invention Festival in Santa Clara, California last summer and she was awarded a Silver Medal for her Invisible Rain Cover Device for Vehicles, an invention that uses a stream of air to deflect rain and improve driver visibility. She was also honoured with a Gold Medal and the Award for Outstanding Innovation for her Luggage Bag with a Brake and Self-Weighing Mechanism, impressing judges with its practicality and originality.
Building on this success, Abbie’s inventions have now been presented by the Taiwan Invention Association (TIA) at the Seoul International Invention Fair, held from in December 2025. Her innovative luggage design once again received high recognition, winning a Silver Prize. In addition, her Invisible Rain Cover Device for Vehicles was awarded a Special Recognition Award from King Abdulaziz University, Saudi Arabia.
Following her consistent achievements at international invention fairs, Abbie received additional support from the Taiwan government, which subsidised both booth fees and flight travel in recognition of her continued success.
Since December Abbie has already secured patents in Taiwan and Germany, with applications currently pending in Japan, China, and the United States and the first prototype of her luggage with a brake and self-weighing system has now been completed.
Abbie has been invited to participate in one of the world’s largest invention exhibitions, the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva, taking place this March. This internationally renowned event brings together inventors, researchers, and industry leaders from across the globe.
These achievements reflect Abbie's exceptional creativity, determination, and innovation.
