This athletics season has been a breakthrough one for Sienna (L6) in the hammer throw. She competed at the South of England Championships, and secured 2nd place finishes at both the Berkshire County Championships and the Berkshire Schools Championships. Her consistency across competitions has earned her an impressive ranking of 2nd in both Oxfordshire and Berkshire, as well as 28th in the UK for the U17 girls 4kg hammer.
What makes this achievement even more remarkable is the adversity she has faced: Palmer Park athletics track has been closed since April, significantly limiting her training opportunities. Adding to that, she only took up hammer throwing two years ago, making her rapid rise all the more impressive.
With the season now complete, she’s looking ahead to winter training, focusing on building strength and refining her technique for an even stronger year ahead.
