This week, Lower Sixth student Gaia D has chosen to review Mark Waddell's poem 'The Sound of a Falling Possum' as this week's Poem of the Week.

"I really like the way in which Janis Gilpin describes the poem: The man in this poem could be any of us, bumbling our way through our ‘busy’ lives, missing what is right in front of us as we spend extraordinary amounts of time in our heads or on our phone" explains Gaia. "We should take the time to look up, look out, and be aware, or you might miss the sound of your own falling possum."

What do you think of this week's poem?
