Queen Anne's School and the whole of the United Westminster and Grey Coat Foundation community are saddened to hear of the recent death of our former Chair of School Governors, Vice Admiral Peter Dunt, who passed away at his home on 13 October 2020.

Peter was Chair of Governors for nine years at Queen Anne's School, and had also previously been Chairman of The Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. He had an extremely prestigious career in the Royal Navy, and in 2002 became Chief Executive of Defence Estates. He retired from the Royal Navy in 2007 and subsequently joined a number of public and private sector boards.

Until very recently, Peter Dunt was the Chair of Trustees of the United Westminster and Grey Coat Foundation. His vision and tenacity in brokering the 2019 merger of two separate historical charities into the group we have today means that the Foundation is well placed to deliver outstanding education and public benefit for the pupils and communities across our family of five Foundation schools.

Peter had decided to step down from Chairmanship of the Foundation earlier this year and his successor as Chairman of Trustees is Mr Toby Mullins. Peter will be missed by all at the Queen Anne's School and the United Westminster and Grey Coat Foundation, and we want to acknowledge the herculean efforts, infectious humour, and wise counsel that he brought to all his activities.
