Queen Anne’s Senior First Lacrosse Team Celebrates a Successful Season and Prepares for the Upcoming National Challenge Cup
Queen Anne’s School is thrilled to celebrate the outstanding achievements of the Senior First Lacrosse Team, who have shown extraordinary growth and resilience this season. Since January 2024, the team has demonstrated unwavering dedication, leading to a remarkable 5th place at the National Schools' Competition and a commendable 3rd place at the Southwest Rally. Their commitment to training and teamwork has been inspiring, pushing each player to exceed their own limits and support one another’s success.
U18A Lacrosse Coach, Nick Blackwell praised the team’s commitment, sharing that their collective focus and resilience have been essential to their success. “This season's success is a direct result of the players' hard work, teamwork, and passion, setting an inspiring example for years to come. They have truly earned their invitation to the National Schools’ Challenge Cup, where they will be competing among the best in the nation. I am proud to coach such a devoted and aspirational group of talented athletes, and I have no doubt they will do themselves proud and continue to drive their development forwards as we look towards National Schools’ 2025"
Team captain, Lara (Upper 6) shared Coach Blackwell's appreciation for their progress this season noting the strong foundation the team has built through their achievements. "This season has been off to a fantastic start, with the team really coming together,” she said. “Training sessions with Mr. Blackwell have been intense and focused, helping us continuously develop our skills and teamwork.”

Vice-Captain Mary (Lower 6) highlighted the sense of pride and purpose that drives the team’s efforts. “Being ranked 5th in the nation last year is a clear reflection of the lacrosse here at Queen Anne’s. We are a driven, dedicated, and determined team who fight for the ball to the very last whistle.” Further expressing how adaptability and mental focus have become core strengths of the team as they prepare for each fixture with specific strategies and goals in mind.
Lacrosse is at the heart of Queen Anne’s, and we hope to be able to show who Queen Anne’s are and what we are capable of at the upcoming National Challenge Cup.
The Senior First Lacrosse Team have shown what dedication, determination, and teamwork can achieve. As they look toward the National Schools’ Challenge Cup on Sunday 17 November, they have the full support of the Queen Anne’s community, helping them to embody Strong Spirits on and off the field.
