U4 World of Work Day 2023
U4s had a brilliant experience at their World of Work day, which included a range of events designed to encourage the exploration of various careers, as well as study options and budgeting. A highlight of the day was a speed-dating style interview with 17 professionals from various industries, including some Queen Anne's Alumnae who were delighted to share their journey since leaving Queen Anne's.
Here are some student accounts from the event:
It was fun and it was interesting to hear about how old Queen Anne's students are doing their jobs today. It was helpful for me to think about what I could do in the future.

The world of work day started off with a little bit of research for a job we want to do or like. Then we had Mr. Stephenson giving talk about GCSEs and A levels, then with a Q&A with the U6s and L5s. After that we had a talk about finance and budgeting. To finish off the day we talked to a lot of different people with very different jobs.
Anaya (U4)
It was super informative and there was a wide variety of people from all careers so I got to learn about lots of different jobs that I didn't know about before.
Beatrix (U4)
I learnt a lot of things during World of Work day, about jobs that I didn't know about and how hardworking you have to be to have a job. It was quite fun listening to the people talk about their experiences and challenges they faced while working.
Hau Ching (U4)
It was interesting to learn about the different jobs people do and how GCSE's work. Learning about the different jobs helped me work out what job I might like to do.

We had talks from Ms McGrenary and Mr Stephenson about what GCSEs & A - Levels will be like with some help from L5s and Sixth formers and later we did finance and budgeting with Mrs Tynan. In the afternoon, we had a speed dating session, where we had 17 guests telling us about the jobs they do where most of them we had not even heard of them but we were inspired by the dedication.
