U4 Geographers out in Caversham

Geography U4

Earlier this week, our U4 Geographers explored different areas of Caversham to investigate how housing quality relates to secondary data such as housing age. Equipped with mobile devices and using Survey123, students collected geolocated data - recording observations directly onto digital maps to capture spatial patterns in real time.

This fieldwork is part of their geography enquiry, where students follow a structured method: posing questions, collecting data, analysing patterns, and drawing conclusions. Back in the classroom, they’ll use GIS tools to visualise and interpret their findings, preparing them for success at GCSE and A Level Geography.

The trip gave students a hands-on opportunity to apply geographical theory to the real world, developing skills in observation, data handling, and spatial analysis. A fantastic step in their journey to confident, curious Geographers!
