DofE Event

Twenty nine L5 and U5 students coped brilliantly with huge changes in temperature during their four day Silver Practice Duke of Edinburgh Expedition. Ice on the tents overnight and hot weather during the day could not stop the girls from enjoying the beauty of the Brecon Beacons.

Sam Sykes Ltd staff described the girls as a joy to work with. They were especially pleased with the organisation and teamwork shown, as well as the positive way in which the girls responded to feedback and advice. The girls have refreshed and expanded what they had learned from Bronze level, with navigation skills prioritised in the more challenging terrain.

All the girls are now ready to participate in the Silver Qualifying Expedition next term in the Peak District. Mrs Eagle would like to thank Mrs Norris and Mrs Hough-Robbins for the great support they provided the expedition and girls.
