It has been a fantastic athletics season for Francesca (L5). In May, she competed for Queen Anne’s in her first ever combined event at the Berkshire Schools Combined Events Championships. Despite the fact that the competition did not include her strongest events, she performed brilliantly and finished 6th in the county.

After this, Francesca focused on her main event, the javelin. In the first open competition of the season, she threw far enough to earn a place on the All-Time UK U15 rankings and qualify for two major national competitions. Her success continued with gold medals at the Reading Schools Championships, Berkshire Schools Championships, and Berkshire County Championships. She then added a silver medal from the South of England Championships to her growing list of achievements.

Francesca was selected to represent Berkshire at both the Southern Intercounties Match and the prestigious National English Schools Championships in Birmingham, where she threw a personal best to reach the final and finish 7th.

In August, she matched this achievement at the UK National Championships, throwing another personal best to secure a place in the final and finish 6th overall.

She closes the season with a personal best of 34.09m, ranked 12th in the UK for U15 girls, a truly remarkable achievement!
