Music Inter-House

The Inter House Music Competition raised the roof of the School Hall on Thursday 13 February.

Every two years the five day and boarding houses work on preparing an ensemble and whole house song. The ensembles can be any combination of instruments and this year, they were arranged by the U5 girls themselves.

The theme for the song was only revealed two days before the competition and this year it was 'Boy and Girl Bands'. The Houses then had to choose their songs and rehearse and choreograph them ready for the performance on Thursday!

The standard this year was really high with fabulous singing, dancing and choreography. It was a great privilege to be able to welcome Emily Dickens and Rob Mingay-Smith as our adjudicators. Both of them have been members of the famous vocal octet VOCES8 and still work with them on their educational projects. They spent time with the Houses as they prepared in the afternoon and gave them useful tips on performance, singing and presentation.

The atmosphere in the Hall during the performance was electric!

Director of Music Mr Padley said:
