A round-up of all the latest sports news in the week commencing Monday 30 April 2018.

Junior Inter-regional Regatta

Last weekend Amy H(U5) travelled to Nottingham with her rowing club to compete in the Junior Inter-Regional regatta. Her club came first out of all twelve teams and the county, Thames Upper, went on to win the event.


Continuing with the watery theme, Catrin P (4) had a sailing competition last weekend, she crewed at Cookham in a Merlin and came in second and third place in her two races despite the windy conditions.



Amelia S (4) competed in the British Trampoline qualifiers in Telford this past weekend. She had great success coming away with a bronze medal in the second highest national trampoline level and comfortably qualifying for the finals in July. This has now led to Amelia being in the top 10-15 in the country for trampolining – a fantastic achievement.

Dance examination results

At the end of the last term, girls took dance exams in a variety of styles and the results are in.


The following girls received a merit in their competition:

Grace P (4), Elizabeth R (L5), Niamh M (L5), Hannah S (U5), Alice H(L6)


The following girls received a distinction in their competition:

Aoife F (4), Sophie H(L6), Hannah H(L6), Phoebe K(L6), Bianca B(L6), Olivia S(U6)


The following girls received two awards in their competition:

Madeline P (L6), Bella F(L6), Madelin P(L6)


Tennis v Downe House

The tennis season got into full swing last week with two matches and a tournament being played, there was also a midweek fixture against Downe House.

U12A lost 6-3
Player of the match: Fran C(L4)

U12B lost 9-0

GSA tennis tournament

The GSA tennis tournament in Eastbourne is extremely challenging, most girls who compete are in a regular club or county tennis outside of school. Emma B(4) and Grace L(4) were the Queen Anne’s School U13 pair and they finished seventh place overall. Sofia A(L4) and Katia L(L4) were the Queen Anne’s U12 pair and they finished fourth place overall.

On Saturday there were tennis matches away against St Swithun’s for the junior teams.

There were also home matches for the U14s v St Swithun’s.
