A round up of all the latest sports news in the week commencing Monday 12 February 2018

Rowing

Vicky Thornley, silver medalist at the Rio Olympics in the women’s double and most recently silver medalist at the world championships in the women’s single join the Queen Anne’s Boat Club rowers for a coaching session just before half term.

Afterwards she chatted to the girls about her journey to the top and the opportunities rowing has given her.

A big thank you to Mrs Townsend for organising this, she is a friend of Vicky’s as they raced together in the London Olympics.

 

Swimming

Harriet completed the second weekend of the Berks and South Bucks County Championships just before half term achieving 10 long course personal bests in 11 events, placing in the top 8 in 4 events and reaching 3 finals in the 50, 100 & 200 backstroke.

In the junior championship finals she raced into bronze medal position in both the 100 and 200 backstroke.

Skiing

Millie J has been race training in France over half term in the build up to competing in the British Schools Championships in Tignes. She competed in slalom and grand slalom races and achieved a bronze award on the Val D’Isere slalom.
