Queen Anne’s Sports News
Tuesday 15th May 2018
A round up of all the latest sports news in the week commencing Monday 7 May 2018.
Despite the snow and adverse weather conditions we still saw fantastic matches and competitions.
The dance companies performed at The Lift Off Dance Festival on the Sunday before last. They performed a jazz dance routine, covering a variety of jazz styles to a range of music from Michael Jackson to Lady Gaga. The company worked as a group of 27 for this performance and demonstrated fantastic team work especially when it came to partnering, lifts and the finale.
Queen Anne’s was one of 15 schools competing in the Independent Boarding Schools Girls Swimming Relay Gala at Downe House School. Representing Queen Anne’s in U15’s Freestyle and Medley relay teams the girls; Harriet S (U4), India P (L5), Georgina L (U4) and Ruby M (U4) finished 5th in both events, narrowly missing out on a medal in the Freestyle relay. The girls are now insight of the long standing QAS 4 x 50 Freestyle record which has stood for 23 years. Three of the team still have another year swimming at Intermediate level, so there is every chance that they will break the record next year.
