Regional Lacrosse Success for Queen Anne’s Girls

Monday 21st March 2016

On Sunday 20 March, four of our Queen Anne’s girls made the journey up to Warwick University to represent the U19 South West England lacrosse team in the regional tournament.

Bella Bowater and Shana Hart, both U5, had already done a fantastic job to make the A team at just sixteen years old and the pair performed outstandingly in both of their matches. Shana made a number of stunning, key saves for the team and Bella demonstrated her defensive expertise as well as her attacking abilities with some incisive runs up the pitch. Unfortunately, the A team lost narrowly in both games but can only be commended for such a high level of performance.

Ella Harris and Georgina Evans, also U5, took their place in the B team with both girls scoring several goals over the course of both games. Georgina used her speed to good effect to outrun her opponents and Ella was as dominant as ever in the centre, often winning possession for her team from the centre draw. The B team convincingly beat the North but the South East team proved too strong and the girls finished in second place.

A great day of lacrosse was had by all and it was fantastic to see Queen Anne’s parents on the sidelines cheering the girls on.  SW Lacrosse - Website
