National Schools Regatta

Thursday 7th June 2018

On Sunday 27 May QABC took 4 of our senior members to compete in the Junior Women’s quad at National Schools Regatta. Our event had 40 entrants.

We came 15th in the time trial which was a huge achievement for us as a boat club. The coaches were very proud of how the quad raced, with guts and determination. We just missed out on the A/B semis but were determined to have a good race in the C final. We ended up coming third having quite the tussle with Henley Boat Club who placed 2nd behind Sir William Borlase’s A crew. This year QABC made history by placing the highest we have ever placed at National Schools. We have already been training over the half term break as our next aim is to qualify for Women’s Henley. As a squad we have learnt plenty and plan to train hard for the next 3 weeks to try and improve on our last performance.
