Mary, Alumna 2026

Hello, I’m Mary, a 2026 alumna of Queen Anne’s. I live locally and joined the school as a day girl in Lower 4, so Queen Anne’s has been a huge part of my life for the past seven years.

One of the things I valued most about QAS was being part of a community where day girls and boarders mix completely. Some of my closest friends were boarders and, whether we were meeting in the sits before lessons, playing sport together or spending time at school events, there was always a real sense of community.

Sport became a massive part of my Queen Anne’s journey. Before joining QAS I had never played lacrosse, but the encouragement of the PE department helped me discover a sport I absolutely loved. I went on to play at regional level, represent the school throughout my time here and become Senior Lacrosse Co-Captain.

One of my proudest memories was being part of the Queen Anne’s U19 team that won the National Schools Lacrosse Championship in 2025. It was an incredible achievement and made even more special because I was able to share it with teammates and friends I had grown up with at school.

In my final year, I was also incredibly proud to serve as one of Queen Anne’s Head Girls. Taking on that responsibility gave me the opportunity to represent the school, support younger pupils and give something back to a community that had given me so many opportunities.

I studied Physical Education, Business and Psychology at A Level, achieving A*AA, and I am now heading to Durham University to study Business and Management with a Placement Year.

From discovering lacrosse for the very first time to becoming Head Girl and a national champion, Queen Anne’s encouraged me to try new things, aim high and make the most of every opportunity.
