Fantastic achievements in music at Queen Anne’s School
Wednesday 2nd May 2018
The music department have been very busy as we continue into Trinity Term at Queen Anne’s School.
Izzy R (U6) who plays the Oboe, has been awarded the ARSM Diploma performing qualification by the ABRSM. This is an outstanding achievement as the ARSM qualification is new having only been introduced recently making Izzy one of the first people to receive this award.
Congratulations to Sharon C (U5) who has achieved Grade VIII in voice, piano and flute in the past year. Director of Music, John Padley noted “Sharon is a fabulous performer on all three instruments; she is confident and is a true professional in concerts. Many congratulations.”
We have some great news to share with you all on behalf of Camille M (U6), she has received an unconditional place at Birmingham Conservatoire to study Violin. Camille has shown great dedication and a true love for music, we wish her all the best.
Paloma H (U6) has been working extremely hard lately and has written a quintet for wind instruments which has now been published. Paloma has seen success already with the first sale of her quintet which is called P.I.N.B.A.
Recently, Molly S (U4) has been awarded the ABRSM Silver Medal for her Grade VIII Recorder examination result. For this, she receives £150 and is going to buy her own Bass Recorder. Congratulation Molly!
John Padley is beaming with pride as he rounded-up the exceptional achievements within the department “It is fantastic to see the girls grow as musicians over their years at Queen Anne’s, they have wonderful talents that are being explored and recognised beyond the school.”
