A New Organ For Queen Anne's Music Department

Monday 1st December 2014

Queen Anne’s has taken delivery of a new organ this term, which has been installed in the Hall. The two manual instrument takes pride of place on the stage and fills the space with the most amazing sound.

The organ was built by Johannus and has a comprehensive list of stops, which cover the full range of instruments. As an accompaniment instrument, it is extremely versatile and has already been used to accompany singers, choirs and solo instrumentalists. The first use of the organ was at the school’s Remembrance Service to help lead the hymn singing and to play a final voluntary for organ and saxophone by Denis Bedard, which was played by Mr Giddens and student Alycia Lewis, L6.
