U6 ‘Future Medics’ First Aid Course

Tuesday 18th December 2018

On Friday 30 November, six of our ‘future medics’ in U6 took part in a first aid course with Mr Blunt.

Our U6 students, who are in the process of applying to medical school, gained learning experiences in CPR training, the recovery position, and how to deal with and bandage different types and degrees of wounds.

The girls were very alert and showed a lot of initiative; their extensive medical knowledge was clear throughout the session.

Here’s what our U6 ‘future medics’ had to say about their first aid training session:

“The first-aid course was really helpful and Mr Blunt was very informative and candid about his own experiences in first aid” Marjolein H (L6)

“Learning about real life experiences that I can translate into interview skills and daily situations was extremely helpful” Madeline P (U6)

“I have learnt invaluable skills and now I have more confidence in knowing how to take charge and correctly respond to life threatening situations, which can occur at any given moment” Bianca B (U6)
