success seen in dance and tennis

Tuesday 10th July 2018

It was an early start for the Twilight dancers on Sunday 8 July.
Four days into their summer holidays and the dance company were up early and on their way to the O2 for the finals of The British Red Cross:Make Your Move dance competition . There were eleven acts in the competition; six of those being seniors, who the dance company were up against.
After a long day and a dress and technical rehearsal, the dancers took to the stage for their premier performance on the O2. The piece performed was based on the work of the Red Cross and how, in war torn countries, children are taken to the front line to fight.
The competition was tough and the company was up against other talented and creative acts. The girls worked well as a team and performed their best on the night!
A huge well done and and what a way to finish this academic year! Well done.

There has been great success for the U13 tennis team in this year’s annual, Independent Schools Tennis Tournament. First pair, Emma G and Sofia A-C, qualified for the knockout stages of the prestigious Ralph Cake Plate. They won their quarter final 6-2 against St. Marys Calne and then progressed through the Semi-Finals winning 6-3 against New Hall School. The girls then faced a strong St. Swithun’s pair in the final, both Emma and Sofia put on a spectacular display to win 6-2.

This places them 1st out of 70 schools, a phenomenal achievement. Well done, girls.
