Aegon Tennis vs St. Marys Ascot -Tuesday 23 June

U15A – Lost 7-6

Player of the Match: Flora Mocaer

Having won their group matches, the girls progressed into the semi-final to face St Mary’s Ascot; we knew it was going to be a tough match. Unfortunately Bella Bowater, the team’s captain and number one seed was unable to play due to injury which was a huge blow.

The girls bravely stepped up to the challenge and after the singles match, the score was tied 2-2 with Georgie Evans and Annabelle Roberts managing to beat their opponents. The doubles matches then followed and with our first doubles pair losing, the pressure was on for Katie Green and Flora Mocaer to win. After a tight match and six missed match points, the girls finally claimed the match, the score standing even at 3-3. A championship tiebreak to ten points was needed to separate the teams and decide a winner. Georgina Evans and Annabelle Roberts stepped up to play for a place in the county final. With a fantastic start and 6-0 up, things were looking good. However nerves unfortunately got the better of them and the girls lost narrowly 10-8. Well done to Bella Bowater, Georgie Evans, Annabelle Roberts and Katie Green for this year’s fantastic Aegon Campaign. Also a big thank you to Flora Mocaer who stepped in at the last minute.

Aegon Tennis vs St. Joseph’s College – Thursday 25 June

U15C – Won 5-1

Player of the Match: Alicia Buckeridge

On Thursday 25 June, the U15 C team headed across Reading to play St Joseph’s College U15A team for the AEGON Semi-Final. After a quick warm up, the girls were ready to play in the hot sun. All four matches got off to a good start and it was clear from the outset that Queen Anne’s were looking set for a win! Sophie Hillas and Rachael Hanson managed to get a clean sweep over their opponents with wins of 6-0 and Nia Hudson showed her strength by beating her opponent 6-1. Alicia Buckeridge had to endure the heat for a little longer as her game ramped up and her opponent fought back. The well-matched pair finally ended their game on a 7-5 win to St Joseph’s.

Meanwhile, Nia and Rachael played superbly in a doubles match and came away with a 6-0 victory! All the girls played extremely well but Alicia earned Player of the Match through her hard work and determination. They will now move onto the Division 2 County Final!
