Rave Reviews For U5 Pupils At The Shakespeare Schools’ Festival

Wednesday 19th October 2016

On the morning of Tuesday 18 October, Drama Teacher, Mr Godfrey, and his nine U5 drama girls travelled to the South Hill Park Arts Centre, Bracknell for their technical and dress rehearsal of Shakespeare’s ‘As You Like It’. The rehearsal was in preparation for the girls’ evening performance at South Hill Park Arts Centre as part of the nationwide Shakespeare Schools’ Festival.

At 7.30pm, the girls, including Ines Chamba-Friend, Isabella Farlow, Hannah Higgins, Grace Saunders, Naia Imevbore, Aoife Jones, Phoebe Khalique, Christine Knecht De Massy and Vasilisa Rodionova performed their 30 minute version of Shakespeare’s ‘As You Like It’. They were commended afterwards by the Shakespeare Schools’ Festival Co-ordinator for performing their characters with clear intentions and creating a visually exciting group performance.

Three other schools also performed Shakespeare plays with great enthusiasm on the same evening including ‘The Tempest’, ‘King Lear’ and ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’.
