Queen Anne’s stars shine at the Woodley Festival!

Monday 8th April 2013

It may be freezing outside, but there’s a warm glow of pride in dramaramaland after the first weekend of the Woodley Arts Festival saw Queen Anne’s thespians begin in dramatic style! This year we have more girls than ever competing in the competition and the omens are looking good for the biggest medal haul yet. Amongst many of the notable successes of the weekend were gold medals for Year 10 students Jane Beet and Caitlin Croke. Romilly Hayward and Sophie McAlpine gained special boxed gold medals and special comment from Penny Phillips, the adjudicator. Romilly actually won three golds and a silver in total whilst Sophie also won the trophy for her outstanding performance of Shakespeare. Silver medals were awarded to Ana Nunez-Lagos, Tiajna Izekor-Amayo and Angelica Hill and, not to be outdone by the “big girls”, there were also silver medals for Years 7 and 8 girls Katie Dart, Phoebe Khalique, Claudia Mills, and Ellena Sheppard. Many thanks go to Mrs Durham for organising Queen Anne’s entry to the competition.
