Queen Anne's Sports Update

Monday 18th April 2016

As the Trinity Term gets underway, please find below for a sports update from Head of Domain for Sport, U6 student Sheyi Blackett.

“Queen Anne’s girls have had a productive Easter combining revision with sports training. Several girls attended South West Regional Lacrosse training camps and Miss Armstrong has recently competed in the Lacrosse Home Internationals at Surrey Sports Park.

Hannah Stronach performed a solo in a dance competition and has qualified as a regional finalist for the All England Nationals next year. She has also reached the finals of the British Arts Awards which will take place in London in May.

I attended a GB rowing training camp and have been selected to represent Great Britain at the Munich Regatta in May.

On Saturday 16 April, the Junior Twilight Dance Company performed at The Lift Off Dance Festival and both the Senior and Junior Twilight Dance Company performed 4 pieces at the Waterside Theatre in Aylesbury on Sunday 17 April. Our dancers were the opening and closing acts of the show, which highlights that the reputation of dance at Queen Anne’s is clearly being recognised.

This term is very busy on the tennis, dance and athletics front. There will be major athletics competitions in the next few weeks so please do come out to the athletics clubs this week and the extra trial slots on Wednesday and Friday after school.”
