Please see below a round up of the Sports News from Queen Anne’s in the week beginning 21 November.

Swimming

The U13 and U14 swim squads were in action last week against The Marist and Heathfield Schools. The U13 swimming team recorded a very rare achievement when they achieved 1st place in all seven race disciplines during their gala.

At the home gala versus Downe House on Wednesday, the pool was full of supporters who witnessed race after race of close finishes with both sets of girls straining every last sinew to touch the wall first.

Dance

On Saturday night the senior dance company performed in the Jump Dance Show at St Bart’s Theatre, Reading. The girls performed superbly and there was great feedback from the organisers.

The L5 and U5 GCSE dance classes attended the annual dance conference this week in London and watched live performances from year 11 and further education students to provide inspiration for future choreography.

It is the time of year where the dance girls are busy taking their ISTD exams. On Sunday 20th November nine girls went to London to the Head Quarters of the ISTD to take their grade 3, 4 and 5 ballet exams. This Friday there are many more dance exams taking place at Queen Anne’s and we wish all the dancers success.
