A round-up of all the latest sports news in the week commencing Monday 17 September 2018.



Ella B (4) ended her summer athletics season on a high with selection to represent Buckinghamshire at the Derek Crookes Under-13 Inter-Counties championships, on the 28th July. The Derek Crookes is a high level meeting that features thirteen of the strongest athletics counties in the south of England. In a very tight race Ella was place second, with only 0.15 seconds separating first and second.

During May to July this year, Ella was entered in the London Junior Race Series, which is a series of Triathlons, Aquathons and Duathlons. She attained maximum points and took the regional title for her age group. As a result she was selected to represent the London region at this years Inter-Regional Championships at Mallory Park in Leicestershire. This is a weekend of racing for the best girls from all regions as part of the British Triathlon U20s Festival.






Georgie W (U5) and Hettie W (U4) completed their Young Leaders Award with Reading Hockey Club over the summer. The three day course covered essential skills, such as umpiring, coaching, how to organise a hockey festival, how to manage a team and the general principles of leadership.




Dance Company Auditions

The afternoon of Wednesday 12th September was filled with excitement and apprehension as nearly 50 girls took to the dance floor to audition to be in this years’ Twilight dance company. The dance department have had a difficult decision to make, but the full company are nearly decided. Look out for the dance company’s debut performance later this term.





ISTD Dance Exams

Last term 27 girls took dance exams in modern, jazz and tap. There was a 100% pass rate and special commendation goes to Phoebe K (U6) who achieved distinction in Intermediate Modern and Gold Jazz and to Aimee L (L5) who achieved distinction in Grade 5 Modern and Silver Jazz.




Super Saturday

The sports season got off to a very busy start with the first Super Saturday of the term where many of the girls play in both lacrosse and netball matches. It was always going to be a tough start: not only was the fixture against Downe House, but they have just been on lacrosse tour over the summer.
