Queen Anne’s Sports News

Wednesday 27th September 2017

A round up of all the latest sports news from Queen Anne’s in the week commencing Monday 18 September.

Ella (L4) has been competing in the 1500m for Bucks County U13 girls team over the summer. Highlights of her season included a new personal best with an impressive time of 5min 14 seconds at the Derek Crookes Athletics Meet in July and a win at the Woking Young Athletes Open Meet at the start of September.

The swimming teams had their first meet of the season against the Abbey. There was a great team spirit amongst the four teams and the results were very close.

It was particularly pleasing to see a Senior swim team from Queen Anne’s compete for the first time in several years. Sophia Ekundayo, Zoe Campbell, Maddie Clarke and Amber Richards gave it everything and only a fingers distance prevented them winning the fixture in a very exciting final relay race. They had to settle for a draw in the end.

Queen Anne’s also faced The Abbey on the netball courts this week. The U14s had some quick fire matches against some very tall, physical circle players. This will have been good practice before going off to Condover Hall this weekend.

The U16 A team were on form and unstoppable. The U16B team had to look for last minute stand ins in order to field a team, so a big thank you to those girls who stepped in to play at the last minute.

The seniors had an extremely closely fought game against The Abbey and it wasn’t until the final quarter that Queen Anne’s began to pull away with the lead. An excellent start to their season.
