Read below for a round up of all the latest sports news from Queen Anne’s in the week commencing 16 January 2017.

Swimming

Several girls have been competing in county swimming championships. Amy McCall achieved a personal best for the 100m freestyle and was placed 19th in her age group. Harriet Seaton achieved 4 PBs in 5 races and collected 2 rosettes for top 8 finishes.

The Queen Anne’s U13 and U12  swim squads were successful against The Abbey this week, with the U13 squad winning all 7 races.

Diving

Sophie Bailey competed in a three day regional competition in Southampton on 3 diving board disciplines and qualified for the national competition on the 5 Metre board.

Netball

The senior netball teams faced tough opposition this week from St Helen’s and St Katharine’s. Meanwhile the u14s played against Cranford House.

U18s vs St Helen’s and St Katharine’s

U18As lost 27 – 9

U18Bs lost 37 – 3

U14As won 17 – 5

U14Bs lost 4 – 11

Cross Country

Whilst the frozen ground limited the lacrosse players to internal matches, once the ground had defrosted, the Berkshire Schools Cross Country Championships went ahead at Newbury Show Ground. Queen Anne’s had competitors in the Under 13 and U15 age categories. The highest place Queen Anne’s runner was Millie Batchelor who came 13th out of 83 competitors and helped her team to gain 5th place out of 20 teams. Well done to all the girls who competed.
