Queen Anne’s Pupils are Inspired at the Academic Symposium
Thursday 30th March 2017
On Tuesday 28 March 2017 the Lower Sixth pupils, plus selected Lower Five pupils attended an academic symposium, which was held at Queen Anne’s School.
Prestigious academics from leading universities were invited to the event and gave papers on the following topics:
Professor Nicholas Perkins: Persuasive and Performance Language in Chaucer’s The Canterbury Tales.
Professor Michael Scott: The Gritty Realities of Ancient Greece.
Professor Tom Stoneham: Dreams Without Dreaming.
Professor John Powell: Why Does Music Exist?
All pupils engaged in scholarship of the highest level; it was a privilege for the pupils to work alongside such academics. The successful day, certainly gave a feel for university undergraduate life.
