Queen Anne’s Athletics Success

Congratulations to all our athletes who were victorious at the Foundation Schools’ Sports Day on Friday 6 May, winning the Millennium Cup for the twelfth year in a row! This year’s Foundation Schools’ Sports Day took place at Battersea Park, London and the schools that competed included Westminster City School, Grey Coat Hospital, Emanuel School, Sutton Valence School and Queen Anne’s.

Two competition records were broken by Zara Obamakinwa in the U13 Shot Put category with a throw of 8m70cm and Georgie Kent with a U15 100m time of 12.68s.

Alongside winning the Foundation Schools’ Sports Day, Queen Anne’s hosted Downe House for the first athletics fixture of the season in very chilly conditions. The U15 team lost, but there were some excellent individual performances. The U13 team won 59 points to 55 after a thrilling relay decider.

At Inter/U15 Level:

  • Sophie Lange winning the discus with a throw of 21.45m
  • Maisie Pennant winning the 800m in 2m42s

Junior/U13 Level Winners:
