"Operation Christmas Child"

Friday 28th November 2014

For the 4th year running, Queen Anne’s pupils have taken part in “Operation Christmas Child” – the world’s largest children’s Christmas project, organised by The Samaritans. The project involves giving shoeboxes full of Christmas gifts to children who are less fortunate, regardless of their background or religious beliefs.

Queen Anne’s girls have been hard at work wrapping empty shoeboxes and filling them with great little gifts. The shoeboxes, created by the girls, will then be handed over to the Samaritans who will send them overseas with the help of thousands of volunteers.

Every shoebox sent brings joy, hope and smiles to a child whose life has been haunted by poverty, disaster, disease or war. What is more, every shoebox gift is freely given to a child overseas and it is a symbol of the true meaning of Christmas.
