Junior Production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Friday 28th June 2019

The Junior Production of ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ was performed on Tuesday 18, Wednesday 19 and Thursday 20 June 2019 in the Performing Arts Centre. Our Lower School Students, led by Cesca M (U4) as a hugely exuberant Willy Wonka and Gigi J (U4) as a happy-go-lucky Charlie, performed to a full house each night.

The narrators, Oompa-Loompas, the naughty children and their parents all joined the adventures of Willy Wonka’s wonderful chocolate factory, complete with chocolate river, nut and bubble gum factory, rubbish chute and great glass elevator. The creative uses of costume and props gave the audience the full experience of Willy Wonka’s factory, and complemented the fantastic standard of acting perfectly.

The director, Rhodri Punter was the mastermind behind this fun filled extravaganza with his production team: Co-director, Oliver Godfrey; assistant director, Maddie C (L6), choreographer Natalie Scott and the props and costumes by Nigel Ward, Suzanne Durham, Katie Durham and Sam C (L6).

It was a great show full of laughter and mischief, and wonderful to see actors of all experience levels come together to create some really special performances. Congratulations to all involved!
