French Running Success

Friday 17th April 2015

On Sunday 12 April, Mrs Gill Little, Assistant Head at Queen Anne’s, successfully ran the Paris Marathon in a time of 4hrs and 5 minutes. Mrs Little shares with us below her experience of competing in the Marathon:

“The Paris Marathon was the first marathon that I had run. I completed the marathon in 4hrs 5mins and I am particularly pleased with my time especially as I developed an acute pain in my left knee and was hobbling by 14 miles. I managed to keep going and went through the pain barrier by 19 miles after which I was able to get back into a reasonable stride. I am now paying the price for my effort as I have a very swollen and bruised knee! It was a memorable experience for a variety of reasons, in particular as the marathon really was a measure of my mental strength.”

Mrs Little ran the Paris Marathon to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support and is still collecting sponsorship. If you would like to donate money, you can do so via Mrs Little’s page www.givey.com/gilljogsalong
