We want our students to be curious about the world, confident in unfamiliar places and open to perspectives beyond their own. Through international partnerships, exchanges, travel, languages and a diverse school community, girls have opportunities to make connections across cultures and see themselves as part of something much bigger.

Round Square

Queen Anne’s is proud to be part of Round Square, a worldwide community of schools committed to developing internationally minded, confident and compassionate young people.

Through the network, our students connect with young people around the world – exchanging ideas, learning about different countries and cultures, collaborating on projects and discussing some of the complex issues shaping their generation.

Round Square is built around six IDEALS: International Understanding, Democracy, Environmental Stewardship, Adventure, Leadership and Service. These principles align closely with life at Queen Anne’s, encouraging girls to look beyond the classroom and consider the part they can play in the wider world.

Students can take part in international conferences, exchanges, collaborative projects and virtual academic opportunities, building friendships and sharing ideas with peers across the global Round Square community.

If you would like to know more about the Round Square Network and Queen Anne's involvement please contact Mark Gerrard ([email protected]) or Tegan Joyce ([email protected]) our Round Square co-ordinators or you can find out more on the Round Square website www.roundsquare.org

Exchanges that open up the world

There is no substitute for experiencing another culture for yourself.

Our exchange opportunities give students the chance to live, learn and build friendships in another country, developing independence and confidence along the way.

Our students have taken part in a reciprocal French work experience exchange in Fougères, combining language immersion with placements in local primary schools and the opportunity to experience French culture firsthand.

An International Community

Our boarding community welcomes girls from overseas, bringing different languages, experiences and perspectives into everyday school life. International students are fully integrated into the academic and co-curricular life of the school, building friendships with girls from the UK and around the world.

Our Short Stay Enrichment Programme also enables international students to join Queen Anne’s for a period of study, experience our teaching and co-curricular programme and become part of the school community. Recent participants have joined us from countries including Spain, Germany, Italy and Portugal.

For girls arriving from overseas, dedicated induction opportunities help them settle into school, make friends and become familiar with life in the UK before the term gets underway.
