Celebrate Dance 2018
Tuesday 12th June 2018
On Friday 8 and Saturday 9 June, the Dance Department showcased their Celebrate Dance 2018 show which featured girls from Lower Four up to Upper Sixth. They performed a wide variety of dance styles, including contemporary, tap, ballet and musical theatre, which have been developed during their lessons. Some girls had the opportunity to demonstrate their choreography skills by creating their own pieces for the show.
Celebrate is the title of our annual show to acknowledge all the hard work and achievements that have been seen in dance this year.
Along with the work from ISTD grades and dance clubs, there were routines choreographed and performed as solos and group pieces by the recent GCSE dance students, lower school and dance captain. These students in particular have shown creativity, imagination and have excelled in being wonderful choreographers and performers.
The Twilight Dance Company performed a number of large group dances, one of those being the emotive Taken in Terror, which will be performed at the British Red Cross finals on Sunday 8 July at the O2 Arena in London.
