Performance storyteller, Ben Haggarty, will run storytelling sessions for girls in years L4 and 4 on Wednesday 4 March 2015. More details to follow.
Creative Writing Competition
All pupils in the Lower School will be required to write a story or creative piece based on a myth, fairy tale, folktale or fable. Work will be completed for English Preparation and during English lessons. Stories can be illustrated and should be no more than 500 words long. Entries must be submitted to your English teacher by Monday 2 March.
The Creative Writing Competition is optional for girls in L5-U6 but we would love you to enter!
All Lower School girls will be expected to complete a review of their favourite book. Templates for this competition will be provided by your English teachers. The review should be completed on A4 paper. Reviews will be collated and made into a book for display and this will be used to help other students choose a book to read. There will be a prize for the best three reviews. Be as enthusiastic as possible!
Interpretative Reading Competition (L4-U4)
The Interpretative Reading Competition will take place shortly in library sessions. The final for this competition will be held on Thursday 12 March. The cup for this competition will be awarded at the school’s annual Speech Day and Prize Giving Event on Saturday 27 June.
