Wilkins House Donate Furniture To Charity

Wednesday 2nd March 2016

As Wilkins House continues on its journey of refurbishment, pupils and house staff have ensured their second-hand furniture has gone to a good home by donating items to the organisation, Christian Community Action.

Over the half-term break, Wilkins Matron, Mrs Mulligan, reached out to the CCA and offered them the opportunity to take advantage of the house’s huge clear out. Beds, wardrobes, chairs, sets of drawers and desks will be going to a great cause and have escaped the dreaded dump!

Once all the furniture had been loaded up, Alan Smith, a representative from Christian Community Action said,

“The Wilkins House furniture is ideal and remains in very good condition – credit to the girls for looking after it for so long.  It will go to help lots of needy families in the Reading area.  It really is a fantastic donation by the school.  A huge thank you to all at Queen Anne’s”

The on-going refurbishment of Wilkins House is due to be completed and ready for the girls to enjoy when they return from holiday in September 2016.
