U5/L6 Classics And Latin Trip To The British Museum
Tuesday 13th October 2015
On Friday 9 October, U5 and L6 Classics and Latin pupils made a flying visit to the British Museum in central London.
Viewing artefacts is an essential part of studying art and archaeology and as U5 and L6 Classics pupils are studying Athenian vases as part of their coursework, the girls took the opportunity to observe, at first hand, one of the best collections in the world of these beautiful objects.
The Latin students were able to spend time with Mr Lovell, Teacher of Classics, looking at the equally important Roman collections in order to contextualize their language studies. The two groups then met to look at the Parthenon marbles together and take a peek at the Rosetta stone through the mass of other visitors to the museum.
A quick visit to the shop and a hot chocolate in the courtyard revived the group for the trek home on the train.
