Superb Woodley Success

Queen Anne’s pupils are celebrating another successful year of fantastic performances at the Woodley Festival of Music and Arts 2014. Overall our girls achieved 6 Gold medals, 6 Silver medals and 11 Bronze medals including an Highly Commended result for Georgia Bray, U4.

The Gold medals and trophies were awarded to:

  • Romilly Hayward, 4, (Year 8 and under mime solo category)
  • Annabel Marlow, L5 and Kate Hillas, L5 (Year 11 and under duologue)
  • Rosie Dart, U5 (Year 11 and under – solo acting)
  • Lara Sharrock, L6 (Year 13 and under – Shakespeare solo)
  • Tiajna Amayo-Izekor, U6 (Year 13 and under – solo acting)

Romilly and Rosie were also invited to perform at the 2014 Festival Finale Concerts on Sunday 30 March at Bearwood College. The concerts celebrate the end of the Festival and include a replay of the most memorable short performances from across the Festival. Romilly and Rosie both performed in the first concert and were two, out of only three actors, asked to perform in the gala concert of musicians, singers, verse speakers and actors.

The Silver medals were awarded to:

  • Francesca Coleman, U4, and Ella Harris, U4 (Year 11 and under duologue)
  • Jane Beet, U5 (Year 11 and under – solo acting
  • Ellen Woodward, U6 and Gabrielle Woodward, U5 (Year 13 and under duologue)
  • Sophie McAlpine, U6, (Year 13 and under – solo acting

The Bronze medals were awarded to:

  • Romilly Hayward, 4 (Year 8 and under drama solo)
  • Hannah Townend, L4, and Gracie Whitefoord, L4 (Year 8 and under duologue)
  • Amelia De Normann, U5, and Isabella Ritchie, U5 (Year 11 and under duologue)
  • Alice Knott, U5, and Sophie Grosz-Dequenne, U5 (Year 11 and under duologue)
  • Alicia Green, U4 (Year 11 and under – Shakespeare solo)
  • Claudia Mills, U4 (Year 11 and under – solo acting)
  • Valera Bamgbala, L6 (Year 13 and under – Shakespeare solo)
  • Giulia Gibbons, U6 (Year 13 and under – solo acting)

Following their impressive performances at the Festival, Tiajna Amayo-Izekor, Rosie Dart and Lara Sharrock have also been awarded The Sonning Players Trophy. The Sonning Players Trophy is a trophy donated by The Sonning Players who were an acting group based in Sonning. They disbanded a couple of years ago. The trophy is due to be presented to the girls before the end of term.
